Postpartum Doula Support:
A postpartum doula is someone who comes into your home after childbirth to support you during your transition to motherhood. This support can take a variety of forms, whether it be help with breastfeeding or special attention to making sure that your needs are met while you're caring for a new baby. Listed below are some general area that I could be helpful to you during the first three months of your postpartum experience. I have been trained as a postpartum doula by CAPPA, am a volunteer with The BabyBlues Connection and have been working with families in the Portland area since 2009.
Mothercare and birth recovery
Breastfeeding assistance
Judgment-free emotional support
Processing the birth experience
Information about nutritional and herbal self-care
Light housekeeping and errands
Meal preparations
Respectful sibling care
Babywearing demonstration
Referrals and resources
**Special training and experience with mothers experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety
Fee: $25 dollars an hour.
if you hire me for 12 plus hours, the fee goes to $22 dollars an hour.
